Alumna Amanda Parris wins Governor General's literary award
Amanda Parris, a writer who received a master’s degree from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, won a Governor General’s literary award for her debut play, Other Side of the Game.
The play, set in Toronto in two different decades, tells the story of two Black women – Beverly and Nicole – who are community organizers.
Parris, who holds a master’s degree in the sociology of education from Ã山ǿ¼é, writes a weekly column for CBC, hosts three CBC TV series and the radio show Marvin's Room.
